I am grateful to have read this article by Noah. It beautifully articulates my point of view when it comes to sex and sex relations living as a queer gay man. I think some mainstream organizations have done amazing things for my queer brothers and sisters but attempting to normalize the queer community does a disservice to our unique history. Being gay is not something that I am with the lights off in bed. I am gay 24/7 so being gay is an active part of my identity 24/7. It is not my entire identity and I know nobody who just identifies themselves by one of their characteristics. Much like the United States is considered a “tapestry” in it’s cultural and ethnic makeup I am a tapestry in all that makes me who I am.
